CSC · Castello di Verrazzano Winery Tasting Experience & Greve in Chianti Promenade

A private transfer will take you to Verrazano Castle, located in Greve in Chianti which is in the heart of the Chianti Classico area, between Florence and Siena. Originally, the castle was an Etruscan then a Roman settlement and it has remained within its boundaries for over 1000 years: it has represented a firm and safe post in an area plagued for many centuries by political and dynastic conflicts. There is a great tradition of winemaking here, first mentioned in a manuscript in 1150 AD.

Your experience starts with a guided tour of the castle gardens and cellars, followed by a presentation of a selection of the winery best wines. The experience continues with tasting the wines, exclusively from an organic agriculture method, accompanied by a menu of Tuscan excellence including Tuscan ham DOP, wild boar salami, Soppressata (pork) with rind lemon, finocchiona IGP (salami with fennel), crostino (fried/toasted bread) with lard from Val di Greve, Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil "Castello di Verrazzano", Balsamic vinegar “Castello di Verrazzano" on pecorino cheese, Tuscan lilies with tomato sauce and Chianti herbs, Chiantigiana grilled with local vegetables from the garden. The menu ends with a homemade dessert, Cantuccini biscuits and coffee.

After the tasting, you will transfer to the tiny village of Greve in Chianti, for a pleasant stroll in the historic center before meeting to return to the hotel.
