EJ · Winery Tour - Group 2

Sicily is a land of surprises and makes you fall in love with its astonishing contradictions, the strong personalities of its people, and the unpredictable character of its countryside.

Starting from your hotel with your guide, you will motor inland: the road that leads to the winery is not merely a road, but rather a magical forty-kilometres, crossing rolling hills, lush valleys and imposing mountain ranges, onwards through the Jato Valley.

Sallier de la tour winery is located within the designated Monreale DOC territory, an area with ancient roots in winemaking and a territory rich in history and agricultural expertise. It’s a charming corner of Sicily.

Tasca d’Almerita has invested in Syrah, a variety studied from all agronomic and productive angles. The work of Tenuta Sallier de La Tour is told today through three different interpretations of this variety; following a project to enhance the territory, along with Syrah, other native arieties such as Grillo, Inzolia, and Nero d’Avola are also cultivated. Here you are welcomed and embraced by vineyards and the reigning queen is Syrah. This varietal’s eastern origins coexist harmoniously with the native Sicilian varietals Nero d’Avola, Inzolia and Grillo. Each has aunique personality in the vineyard. Pleasant walk through the vineyard, visit the cellar and tasting of 3 wines in pairing with local products.

Then, after re-joining your motor-coach, you will reach the second winery, Feudo Disisa, located near the vineyards, a journey across history, tradition and innovation, through a breath-taking natural landscape. An experience which will engage all of your senses: a spectacle of light, sounds, infinite shades of color and aromas that change with every season.

The tours begin with a stop in the ancient seventeenth-century Baglio owned by the Di Lorenzo - where you can breathe the essence of a typically Sicilian welcome - and continue in the cellar, to discover the processing techniques with which the wines are produced under the brand Feudo Disisa. The third and final stage is the barrique, a real place of worship that holds precious French oak barrels in which wines (both white and red) are aged, a symbol of authentic quality in the territory of the DOC of Monreale.

After thevisit, you will be enjoying a Sicilian menu based on traditional local wines and tasting 3 wines. After your relaxing time at the winery you will be driven back to Villa Igiea.
