EJ · Winery Tour - Group 3

Sicily is a land of surprises, a place that makes you fall in love with its fascinating contrasts, the strong character of its people, and the unpredictable beauty of its countryside.

Starting from your hotel with your guide, you will drive inland. The road leading to the first winery is not just a road, but a magical 40-kilometer journey across rolling hills, lush valleys, and imposing mountain ranges, passing through the Jato Valley.

The Sallier de La Tour winery is located within the designated Monreale DOC territory, an area with ancient winemaking traditions and a landscape rich in history and agricultural expertise. It is a truly charming corner of Sicily.

Tasca d’Almerita has invested in Syrah, studying the variety from every agronomic and production perspective. Today, the work of Tenuta Sallier de La Tour is expressed through three different interpretations of Syrah. Alongside this international varietal, native grapes such as Grillo, Inzolia, and Nero d’Avola are also cultivated, as part of a project to enhance the territory. Here you will be welcomed among the vineyards, where Syrah reigns as the queen, coexisting harmoniously with the indigenous Sicilian varieties. Each grape expresses a unique personality in the vineyard. The visit includes a pleasant walk through the vineyards, a tour of the cellar, and a tasting of three wines paired with local products.

Afterwards, you will continue to the second stop: the Alessandro di Camporeale winery, a fourth-generation family-owned estate located at the foot of a hill overlooking the Mandranova Plain. The 35 hectares of vineyards, situated at about 400 meters above sea level, benefit from a mild climate and fertile clay- and limestone-based soils, ideal for cultivating a wide range of grape varieties. The family emphasizes tradition, experience, and deep knowledge of the land. All vineyard work is carried out by hand, following organic farming principles, including biodiversity to combat parasites and green manure to enrich soil fertility.

During the visit, you will be guided through the vineyards and cellar to discover where and how Alessandro di Camporeale wines are produced. The family will illustrate viticulture practices, the winemaking process, and share their history. The experience concludes with a tasting of five wines, including a dessert wine, paired with five strictly seasonal, traditional local dishes.

After this relaxing time at the winery, you will return by motor coach to Villa Igiea.
